Orchidacea

Flowers have rhythms long before we hear them.

Orchidacea is a perpetual MIDI sequencer inspired by the morphology of orchids. Rather than emulating existing instruments, it explores how botanical structures can become evolving musical patterns. Once opened, the sequence begins immediately, continuously growing like a living system.

Data are extracted from the angular distribution of each plant's petals, blossoming into a sequence. 

Each sequence is based on raw 12-tone relationships, so they do not fit into traditional scales. Applying a "map to key" after *Orchidacea* collapses the sequence to the desired scale, offering greater plasticity.
